Shown at Unearthing an online exhibition by Cement fondu and Kudos, 14 October- 4th November 2021.
In this performance I aim to reveal how the artist and the model become one within the painting. The body print captures the texture of the artist’s body and the kinetics of its movement as it is made, but also represents the model’s energy, their shapes, size and pose.
This work relates to Yves Klein’s works Anthropometry, however the roles are shifted. The artist becomes the brush and uses her own body to represent the model. Both the model and the artist are vulnerable to the eyes of the viewer as they stand together, they are on display conveying a mutual respect between the two.

The female artist uses her own body to paint a male body, merging these two into one and so reminding us of their equality which we strive to achieve in the world today.

This artwork focuses on trust and the communication through touch and energies of two bodies. The paint highlights all the points of contact between those two individuals. The two bodies moving in sync and react to one another like a dance. The video close ups embodies abstraction of sensuality between the converging of surfaces, distancing it from the societal norms of bodies and their preconceived ideas whilst bringing back a more raw meaning to the bodies themselves.
